Issue/Introduction

The following messages are seen in the DA's karaf.log

    • Interceptor for {http://netqos.com/nqevents/EventManager}IEventManagerWSService#{http://netqos.com/nqevents/EventManager}Push has thrown exception, unwinding now
    • Caused by: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
    • Failed to push 1200 events: Could not send Message.

Environment

Environments with the Event Manager secured using HTTPS

Cause

Either the self-signed Portal certificate or the root and intermediate certificate(s) are not imported into the DA's truststore

Resolution

Using the DA's /opt/IMDataAggregator/scripts/sslConfig, import the required certificates.  Please note, this WILL require the DA to be restarted.

  • If using self-signed certificates in the Portal, you must import the self-signed certificate itself.
  • If using CA signed certificates in the Portal, you must import the CA's root and all intermediate certificates in the trust chain between the root and server certificates.
