Issue/Introduction

  • 'Test connection' in Usage Meter fails with error "Failed to connect to the server handshake_failure(40)." along with general error VCF Business Services Console Test failed due to "Upload failure for Notification stream. Authentication flow returned an error.".
  • Following CURL command fails with error "HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error" while trying to establish connection to "eapi.broadcom.com" url via proxy server.
    Note: You may find error at the end of command output. 
    curl -v https://eapi.broadcom.com:443 -x <proxy link>:<port>

Environment

VCF Usage Meter 9.0

Cause

Usage Meter is not able to reach to "eapi.broadcom.com" url via proxy server due to internal firewall blocking communication.

Resolution

Reach out to your internal network team to whitelist "eapi.broadcom.com" in the firewall rules.

Note: In case of using proxy over HTTPS, import its certificate to Usage Meter trust store.
