HCX migration is showing a warning "VM may lose network connectivity after the migration because of the change in destination network(s): (<Portgroup Name>)"

Issue/Introduction

The following warning appears in the migration UI during an HCX Migration.

• ⚠️ VM may lose network connectivity after the migration because of the change in destination network(s) : (<Portgroup Name>)

Environment

VMware HCX

Cause

A warning is displayed when an extended network is not configured in both the pre-migration and post-migration networks.

Resolution

To resolve the warning, configure the extended network on both the source and destination systems.
Ignoring the warning and proceeding with the migration is also possible. It will appear again when you press the GO button, but please press it once more.
