Issue/Introduction

TKG Super-metrics in Aria Operations display a constant value of 0 and do not populate any data, even though related Kubernetes cluster metrics are available and reporting correctly.

Environment

8.18.x

Cause

The super-metrics are configured with underlying metric keys that are no longer available or actively reporting, which prevents the calculations from completing.

Resolution

  • Remove the unnecessary super-metrics aggregated from Kubernetes nodes and pods.
  • Use the cluster-level metrics that are available OOTB with the latest management packs.
  • Update the required super-metrics to use valid metric keys such as (metric keys Cpu|resourceRequests and allocatable|noOfCpus), after which the values populate correctly.
