An error regarding backup-check is shown in syslog.log

Issue/Introduction

In syslog.log, we see following error being logged.

2025-12-19T04:39:34.131Z Er(11) backup-check[577221]: File stat(/opt/dellism/vital/dcismcomm64.ini) failed with error 2
2025-12-19T04:39:34.131Z Er(11) backup-check[577221]: File /opt/dellism/vital/dcismcomm64.ini will not be persisted.
2025-12-19T04:39:34.131Z Er(11) backup-check[577221]: File stat(/opt/dellism/vital/rceserver.crt) failed with error 2
2025-12-19T04:39:34.131Z Er(11) backup-check[577221]: File /opt/dellism/vital/rceserver.crt will not be persisted.

Environment

VMware ESXi

Cause

If you change a file in the vital directory under /opt, the change must be able to persist across reboots. 
This error is displayed if the changes cannot be persisted, resulting in the changes being lost after rebooting ESX.

These files are provided by Dell, so contact Dell support for any issues or solutions
