Issue/Introduction

I'm having an issue with WAS agent metrics in DX SaaS. We're testing a migration from APM 10.8 to DX SaaS, but the metrics displayed aren't the same as they were in Introscope. The only change made at the agent level was adding the priority for reporting to the cloud proxy, but we only see the metrics shown in the image.

Also how do I create the traffic light off an alert in DX SaaS like I used to do in 10.8?

Resolution

Click on Triage -> Metrics/Traces by Agent and then from there is the metric tree as you used to know it back in 10.8.

 

As for the dashboard, there is a way to do it from the APM alert.  Remember in the Dashboard section to choose the traffic light in the visualization.

You would create the alert and get the path from the simple alert.

Example:

1. Go to the Alert Metric in Custom Metric Host

2. Locate your alert and copy the path

3. Choose AIOps_Metrics

4. In the source name specifier, copy the path.  In this example it would be "SuperDomain|Custom Metric Host (Virtual)|Custom Metric Process (Virtual)|Custom Metric Agent (Virtual)"

5. In the attribute name specifier copy the path.  In this example it would be "Alerts|Test:Test - new simple alert traffic"
