Issue/Introduction

  • Creating network from a multisite-associated tenant results in auto-logout of the VMware Cloud Director(VCD) portal.
  • When selecting the Organization VDC(OVDC) from the remote site while creating the OVDC network.
  • Admin and Tenant users are seeing the auto-logout.
  • The issue can happen in already active or new sessions created by the user.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.1.1

Cause

This issue is caused by backend API header related issues. When we select a remote OVDC for network creation, the session call made from the UI to obtain a session for the remote site fails. The headers x-vmware-vcloud-auth-context and x-vmware-vcloud-tenant-context were passed with values related to the local site during the remote site session request, which resulted in a 401 error.

Resolution

The workaround for this issue requires tenant network management from local sites.

Cloud Director Engineering are aware of this issue and actively evaluating for a fix in a future release of Cloud Director.
