VCF Operations for Networks

Issue/Introduction

When connections from a "databus" subscriber to VCF Operations for Networks are closed, is there a cap or limit on the amount of data transferred, and/or a connection timeout?

NOTE:  VCF Operations for Networks was formerly named Aria Operations for Networks (AON), and prior to that was named vRealize Network Insight (vRNI).

Environment

VCF Operations for Networks

Resolution

  • There is no cap (or limit) on how much data can be transferred in a single subscriber connection.

  • There is a connection timeout of 60 seconds.

  • The connection will be closed if the subscriber does not respond in 60 seconds.

Additional Information

  • The databus gateway server runs on all the platform nodes of the cluster.

  • The data can be sent by any platform node.

  • It is not possible to predict which platform node sends data.

  • If the connection is closed by the server due to some factor between the platform node(s) and the subscriber, the VCF Operations for Networks client will attempt to reestablish the connection and continue sending the data.
