Error: ORA-12643 returned when integrating a new DLP data source

Issue/Introduction

The following error message is displayed when attempting to add a new Symantec Data Loss Prevention (DLP) data source to Information Centric Analytics (ICA) using the New Connection Wizard in the Risk Fabric console:

The connection to the Symantec Data Loss Prevention database failed.

Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider
"OraOLEDB.Oracle for linked server "RISKFABRIC_DLP_RISKFABRIC_<hostname>_DLP"
OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server
"OraOLEDB.Oracle for linked server "RISKFABRIC_DLP_RISKFABRIC_<hostname>_DLP"
returned message "ORA-12643: Client received internal error from server".

Cause

Enhanced encryption settings have been enabled on the Oracle database server but the Oracle 19c Database Client installed on the SQL Server host is not patched to a level compatible with these settings.

Resolution

Install the latest patch for the Oracle 19c Database Client on the SQL Server host. If assistance is required, contact your Oracle database administrator (DBA) or Oracle Support.
