Issue/Introduction

When importing Virtual Machine from vCenter Server to VMware Cloud Director using IMPORT FROM VCENTER, the following error occurs:

[ ########-####-####-####-############ ] The organization VDC "<ovdc-name>" does not support the virtual hardware version ## of the VM "<vm-name>" in the vApp

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

This issue occurs when the Hardware Version of the Virtual Machine when attempting to import is higher than what is supported in the Provider Virtual Data Center.

Resolution

To increase the highest Virtual Hardware Version a Provider Virtual Data Center supports, see Edit the General Settings of a Provider Virtual Data Center in Your VMware Cloud Director.
Alternatively, import the Virtual Machine for the hardware version supported by a Provider VDC.
