Failure to upgrade NE Appliance

Issue/Introduction

The NE appliance upgrade failed due to the following error encountered during the upgrade process.

HA Group operation failed for HA Group Id hagroup-b97cb2c4-####-####-####-ff5ad6c06853 with error HA Group Upgrade Job failed. HA Group upgrade workflow failed for groupName Example-ServiceMeshH-01-HAGrp-1

[Example-ServiceMeshH-01-NE-2 and Peers] HA Group Appliance Redeploy Job failed. Interconnect Service Workflow InterconnectRedeploy
failed. Error: Redeploy of Interconnect Appliance failed. Validation failed for redeploying appliance Example-ServiceMeshH-01-NE-2: [{"code":"E_CONFLICT","message":"Another workflow 69363cb5-####-####-####-f6102a89af3d"}]

Cause

The NE upgrade failed due to another task already in progress.

Resolution

Troubleshooting Steps

• Verify running tasks for already existing task.
• If there are already existing task, Wait for active tasks to complete.
• If a running task shows no progress and is suspected to be stuck, proceed with a force cancellation if necessary.
• Restart HCX services or better reboot the HCX manager
• Retry the NE upgrade

Or 

• As a remediation step, force redeploy the appliance so that a new instance with the upgraded version is automatically deployed, resolving the upgrade issue.

Additional Information

Note: Redeploying the appliance will impact the existing network extension. Connectivity may be temporarily disrupted during the redeployment process.
