Issue/Introduction

After upgrading from VMware Aria Automation 8.x to VCF Automation 9.0, you may notice that the login URL has changed.

  • Previous URL: https://<FQDN>/csp/gateway/portal
  • New URL: https://<FQDN>/login/?service=tenant:<tenant_name>

Users attempting to access the service using old bookmarks or saved links to the /csp/ path may experience confusion or be unable to log in directly.

Environment

  • Product: VCF Automation (formerly VMware Aria Automation)
  • Version: 9.0.0.0

Cause

This change is expected behavior due to the introduction of the VCF Identity Broker in version 9.0. This architectural update changes how authentication requests are handled and routed, replacing the VMware Identity Manager 3.3.x (legacy Workspace ONE Access) portal path with a more direct login flow.

Resolution

There is currently no supported method to revert the login URL to the legacy format or to create a redirect within the VCF Automation appliance.

Additional Information

To resolve the impact on your users, you must:

  1. Update internal documentation to reflect the new login URL.
  2. Notify users to update their browser bookmarks to the new format: https://<FQDN>/login/?service=tenant:<tenant_name>.
  3. Update any external load balancer or portal links that point to the VCF Automation instance.
