Issue/Introduction

  • In Administration > Control Panel > Audit, the number of Objects Configured is very high compare to the number of Objects Being Collected.
  • In the Audit page, the large number of Objects is reflected by the number of Objects under Kubernetes > Kubernetes Container.
  • In the Inventory, a large number of Kubernetes Containers are in a 'Not Existing' Collection State.
  • The node/cluster might experience performance issue as the number of objects would affect the node/cluster sizing needed.

Environment

8.18.x

Cause

The Management Pack for Kubernetes is creating duplicate Container objects with different IDs at every collection cycle, every 5 minutes.
The previous collected objects will be moved to 'Not Existing' state, since the previously created objects with their IDs are no longer present in Kubernetes.
Such frequently created Containers bloats up the Aria Operations inventory.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware Cloud Foundation Management Pack for Kubernetes from version 2.2.2.
