Issue/Introduction

Unable to SSH into the Baremetal Edge node and also not able to connect to the server via iLO as well.

It is observed in /var/log/kern.log that the server has been unexpectedly power off.

After powering the server back on and inspecting the logs, some log files, e.g. /var/log/syslog, /var/log/kern.log, may contain garbage repeating characters immediately before the initial kernel boot logs are seen.

Cause

If there are no kernel coredump files in /var/log/core/, then this usually means the server was abruptly powered off such that the logs collected some garbage due to not being closed cleanly.
