Unable to add New Host Switch to existing Transport Node Profile

Issue/Introduction

  • Modifying Transport Node Profile by creating a new Host Switch with the same Transport Zone getting below error in the NSX UI.
    Error: TransportZones should be unique across all HostSwitches on a TransportNode. TransportZone Policy TransportZone/<TZ_ID> is already associated with HostSwitch <VDS_ID>. (Error code: 9541)
  • Issue is seen when adding either Overlay or VLAN Transport Zone.
  • Example reference configuration of Transport Node Profile ESXi-VLAN-TZ was used in two Host Switch with different VDS.

Environment

Cause

Two Host Switch (vDS) on same Transport Node Profile cannot share the same Transport Zones. 

Resolution

Kindly make sure to use different Transport Zones (Overlay or VLAN) for the two different Host Switches in the same Transport Node Profile
