Issue/Introduction

  • NSX WebUI Alarms page shows Password Expiration Approaching on the NSX edge name under Entity name
  • Password is not yet expired
  • NSX is managed by SDDC

Resolution

Manually Update or Rotate the NSX edge password in the SDDC WebUI

Manually Update

  • From the navigation pane, select SecurityPassword Management.
  • Click the tab for the component that includes the account for which you want to update the password.
  • Select the account whose password you want to update, click the vertical ellipsis (three dots), and click Update.
  • Enter and confirm the new password.
  • Click Update.

    A message appears at the top of the page showing the progress of the operation. The Tasks panel also shows detailed status of the password update operation. To view sub-tasks, click the task name.
    Password update is complete when all sub-tasks are completed successfully.

Rotate

  • In the navigation pane, click SecurityPassword Management.
  • Click the tab for the component that includes the accounts for which you want to rotate a password.
  • Select one or more accounts and click one of the following operation.
    • Rotate Now
    • Schedule Rotation - You can set the password rotation interval (30 days, 60 days, or 90 days).
