Issue/Introduction

Is Agent 14.6 supported on these new Operating System ?

• SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 16.0 ( (SLES 16) x64
• OpenSUSE Leap 16.0

Environment

Client Automation 14.6

Resolution

Support for Suse Linux Enterprise Server (SLES 16) x64 is planned. ETA date is around end of January 2026.

For test purpose it is possible to install the agent.

• In SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 16.0 there is this message but installation continue.
  
  

  Warning: this platform has not been validated for Client Automation,
  but installation will continue because an earlier version of the
  operating system has been validated. Please be aware that if you
  continue there may be problems during later stages of this

• In  OpenSUSE Leap 16.0 error "This platform is not supported" appears :
  
  
  
  

  To resolve the problem there are 2 possibilities :

  - Execute this before the installation :

  export DSM_ALLOW_SOFT_PREREQS=1

  or

  - Edit file installdsm and at line #3574

  Replace
                          elif grep_q 'openSUSE' "$suRelF" ; then
  by
                          elif grep_q 'openSUSE' "$suRelF_new" ; then
