VM Class stuck in removal progress on supervisor

Issue/Introduction

The VM class deletion is stuck in the Removal phase. The Manage icon is greyed out, and no other actions can be performed on the object.

Environment

vSphere Kubernetes Service

Resolution

• Follow the documentation to remove the VM class.
• If the VM class is stuck in the removal phase, check for any stale entries on the Supervisor cluster:

kubectl get virtualmachineclasses -A

• If any entries are found, describe the VM class to identify why it cannot be deleted.
• If no stale entries are present, check the wcpsvc logs to determine the cause.
• In some cases restarting the wcp service from vcenter CLI will sync the workloadmanagement

service-control --status wcp

service-control --restart wcp
