Is there an issue with running the same LAM SUBSYS on two LPARS, one is V4.3 and the other is V4.4, but running in the same SYSLPEX? They share DASD so some of the Librarian files will be the same.

Issue/Introduction

Is there an issue with running the same LAM SUBSYS on two LPARS, one is V4.3 and the other is V4.4, but running in the same SYSLPEX? They share DASD so some of the Librarian files will be the same.

Resolution

Environment:
Librarian 4.3 SUBSYS LAM
Librarian 4.4 SUBSYS LAM

1. There is not a problem with one LPAR running 4.3 LAM and using the same LAM name running 4.4 on the other LPAR as long as the V4.3 LAM is initialized on one LPAR and the V4.4 LAM is initialized on the other LPAR. LAM will need to use their own system files, the one for V4.3 and the other for V4.4. They need to be kept separate.

2. The only files that can be shared are the Librarian Master Files.
