Issue/Introduction

  • In VxRail Manager, marvin and runjars services does not start after a reboot
  • In VxRail Manager, running command systemctl status vmware-marvin" shows Active:activating

       

Environment

VCF on VxRail 5.2.x

Cause

Marvin and runjars services not starting automatically is due to missing pgrep service in cache and logging service pods

Resolution

Contact Dell Technical Support for assistance.

Workaround

  1. Login to VxRail Manager using SSH as mystic user
  2. Start the services manually using below command
    systemctl start vmware-marvin
    systemctl start runjars
