Issue/Introduction

  • When attempting to pair with a remote cloud site, the following error occurs:

Could not find SSL/X509 certificate from 'https://####.####.###:443'.

  • The certificates in the site were recently updated.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.7.3.x

Cause

When updating the certificates for VMware Cloud Director Availability services, there are additional steps required to re-establish trust within the site. If the local tunnel certificate is not trusted, the cloud services will fail to create a connection to the peer site across the tunnel when attempting to initiate the pairing process, which will result in this error.

Resolution

Update the tunnel settings to accept the current certificate and re-establish trust with the tunnel service, as detailed in the following document:

Replace the SSL certificate of the Tunnel Service
