Common Components and Services for z/OS

Issue/Introduction

Here are some questions about LPA modules for Common Components and Services:

  1.  Since running on z/OS version 2.4, is it no more necessary to load library CAW0LPA into the LPA?
  2. Several modules of the CAW0LINK, CCCSLINK, CAW0LOAD libraries are located in the LPA but are not in the z/OS LPALSTxx member of the PARMLIB, nor in the IEALPAxx member. How are those modules loaded in the LPA ?

  3. Is CAS9 doing the action of defining the module in LPA? But CAS has only a reference to the CAW0LOAD librairy. The CAW0LINK and CCCSLINK librairies are not identified in the CAS9 JCL.

Environment

Common Components and Services for z/OS 15.0 - z/OS supported releases -

Resolution

  1. Yes, the registration of the load library CAW0LPA with LPA is not required.
  2. Common Components and Services uses IBM service CSVDYLA to load modules into dynamic LPA.

  3. CAMASTER, CAS9, and ENF if they are running can load these modules.
