Issue/Introduction

After discovering Cisco Wireless controllers via SNMP, it discovered all Access Points associated to that WLC via WLC Manager. Then after installing and enabling the DNAC Plugin in Spectrum, all the Access Points in Spectrum had duplicates.

However it doesn't create duplicate switches and Routers if they already existed in Spectrum. Access Points are not SNMP models, they are ping only, so the following workaround does not work:

TechDocs : DX NetOps Spectrum 24.3 : Known Issues with the Spectrum-VNA Integration

  • Duplicate SNMP Models in Spectrum Issue: You can get duplicate SNMP models in Spectrum when Spectrum is integrated with VNA.
  • Workaround:

    Complete the following steps:

Enable the com.ca.spectrum.app.sdn.integration.manager.SdnModelingWaitActive parameter in the OneClick server $SPECROOT\tomcat\webapps\spectrum\WEB-INF\web.xml file by setting its value to true.

By default, the value of the parameter is set to false. Restart the OneClick server.

Environment

DX NetOps Spectrum 24.3.x, 25.4.1

Resolution

This is fixed in Spectrum release 25.4.2:

TechDocs : DX NetOps Spectrum 25.4 : Resolved Issues in 25.4.2

  • Symptom: In a Spectrum-DX NetOps Virtual Network Assurance (VNA) environment, the Access Points discovered through VNA are not reconciled with the WLC-discovered Access Points in Spectrum.
  • Solution: With this fix, Spectrum incorporates the required code changes to add appropriate checks to ensure that the reconciliation of Access Points works correctly.
