NSX Manager status displays "Unknown" after configuring a syslog server with the facility option

Issue/Introduction

  • A syslog server has been configured on the NSX Manager with the facility option specified. You can log in to the NSX Manager CLI using the admin account and verify the configuration with the following command:
    nsx_manager> get logging-servers
    <syslog_server>:514 proto udp level info structured-data audit="true" exporter_name <UUID>
    <syslog_server>:514 proto udp level err exporter_name <UUID>
    <syslog_server>:514 proto udp level info facility auth exporter_name <UUID>
  • The following status is observed on the Manager appliance screen:

Cause

This issue is caused by a defect in the internal logic regarding the usage of the facility option.

Resolution

This issue is scheduled to be resolved in a future release. Please refrain from using the facility option.
