Resolution
vSphere Replication Appliance does not support upgrading the VMware Tools package in the vSphere Replication appliance because the vSphere Replication appliance is a pre-packaged virtual appliance.
The VMware Tools version included with the appliance is tied to the specific release of vSphere Replication Appliance. Upgrading VMware Tools independently may cause instability or compatibility issues with the replication services.
To obtain a newer version of VMware Tools for the appliance, you must upgrade the entire vSphere Replication appliance to a newer release that includes the updated tools.
