Issue/Introduction

1. Virtual Machines are showing Error (RPO Violation)

2. Reconfiguring the VM does not work

3. Removing and re-adding the VM to replication fails with the error.

Unable to complete the reconfiguration task at remote site for replication group 'ecuio012f05' (managed object ID: 'GID-8cf7719c-4bf1-480d-####-############'): task 'HTID-2fdc1311-f1ed-4163-####-############'. Details: 'The datastore with managed object ID 'datastore-####' was not found.'.

Cannot find target datastore for disk 'VM home'.

Replica datastores with UUIDs '[64345b43-b8294fae-####-###########]' are unavailable.

Environment

VMware vSphere Replication 9.x

Cause

Datastores backed by LUNs used for storing replica disks were migrated to a different array.

Resolution

This is an expected behavior when LUNs are migrated from one array to another. Remove the VM from replication and re-add it pointing to the new datastore. This will help the vSphere Replication software to establish a new data path to the newly migrated LUN and replications will resume.
