How to install, update, or delete a third-party plug-in in VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator

Issue/Introduction

This article provides the necessary steps to manage third-party plug-ins, including installation, update, and deletion, using the System Settings page in VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator (formerly vRealize Orchestrator).

Environment

VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator 8.17 and up

Resolution

Install or Update an Automation Orchestrator Plug-in

Before beginning, download the plug-in file (preferred file format is .vmoapp, but .dar files are also supported) to your local machine.

  1. In Automation Orchestrator, navigate to System Settings.
  2. On the Plug-ins card, click Open.
  3. Click Add Plug-in.
  4. In the General pane, click Select and add the plug-in file.
  5. Select a log level.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Review the plug-in information (if applicable), accept the end-user license agreement, and click Install.
  8. Click Upload.

The plug-in is installed or updated, and the Automation Orchestrator server service is restarted.

Delete a Plug-in

  1. In Automation Orchestrator, navigate to System Settings.
  2. On the Plug-ins card, click Open.
  3. Find the plug-in you want to delete and click the Delete icon/link associated with it.
  4. Confirm that you want to delete the plug-in, and click Delete.
