Issue/Introduction

When configuring a scheduled report within VMware Aria Operations for Logs, the test connection does not provide an actual report but is successful.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.18.X

Cause

This is expected behavior designed to test the initial functionality of email communication.

Resolution

This is expected behavior. The 'Test' function is designed to verify SMTP connectivity only. To receive the actual report attachment, you must save the configuration and allow the scheduled task to trigger or wait for the subsequent automated email containing the report.
