Failed to unmount ISO on the SRM/VR virtual machine after the SRM/VR upgrade.

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms

  • After upgrading SRM and VR, the following alert appears when unmounting an ISO from the vSphere Client :
    "Connection control operation failed for disk 'ide0:0'."
  • The SRM/VR upgrade has been successfully completed.

Environment

VMware Live Recovery 9.0
VMware vSphere Replication 9.0

Cause

This is expected behavior when a CD/DVD drive is locked by virtual machine. 

Resolution

Unmount the CD/DVD drive in the virtual machine.

  1. SSH into the VR/SRM virtual machine as the root user
  2. Eject the ISO from the VR/SRM OS layer : 
    eject cdrom
