Cross-organization VM migration between VCD Org VDCs

Issue/Introduction

A VM was mistakenly imported into an Org VDC (Organization Virtual Data Center) belonging to one organization and needs to be migrated to an Org VDC in a different organization without downtime.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Resolution

VM migration across organizations cannot be performed without downtime.

The VM requires a graceful shutdown and subsequent removal from VCD. (Refer to How to remove a virtual machine from Management in Cloud Director for details)

The VM should be imported into the Org VDC of the correct destination organization. (Refer to Import a Virtual Machine from vCenter as a vApp in the VMware Cloud Director Tenant Portal for details)
