Issue/Introduction
SSL certificate is renewed on vCenter servers and the new certificate is accepted by performing validate connection for vCenter adapters under VCF adapter. Reviewing the vCenter integration status from Administration > Integrations > Expand VCF adapter, the status is reported as 'collecting'.
Alert "Adapter instance Object is down" is triggered for vCenter instance with symptom "Resource is down. Certificate validation failed": This is alert is triggered for the VxRail Adapter.
Reviewing the VxRail Adapter, it is observed that all the vCenter servers are listed in 'Warning' state:
Environment
VMware Cloud Foundation Operations 9.x
Cause
This issue occurs when the vCenter instance is managed by more than one adapter in VMware Cloud Foundation(VCF) Operations and the new SSL certificate is not trusted by some of the adapters.
Identify the adapter instance where vCenter server is listed. For ex: VCF, VxRail adapter, etc.
Edit the vCenter instance under respective adapters > Validate connection and accept the new SSL certificate when prompted. Once the SSL certificate is trusted, status will change from warning to collecting and the alert will be cleared.
