The customer experienced an error when attempting to update their Windows Server connector from version 14.5.1 to the CHF01 patch to enable the Azure endpoint with Office 365 connector capabilities. After the manual update, the connector became inoperative, failing to connect to the Active Directory endpoint and halt synchronization. This occurred in a Production environment.
Version 14.5.1 with CHF01 patch
Endpoint Azure endpoint (REST connector)
The issue was classified as a Configuration Issue. Internal discussion suggested the problem was likely a result of something missing or mis-performed during the manual file replacement upgrade process, possibly due to locked files or missed steps that prevented the upgrade from completing correctly.
When the file system was compared against a good deployment some discrepancies were noted. Reapplying CHF1 corrected the issue and allowed the External Windows Connector Server to successfully upgrade to version 14.5.1 CHF01 and function as desired.
