Issue/Introduction

Operation Failed

A generic error occurred in the vSphere Replication Management Server. Exception details: 'Spec for 'ManagedObjectReference: type = VirtualMachine, value = vm-xxxx, serverGuid = xxxx' contains disabled datastore(s) '[datastore-xxxx]''.

Environment

VMware vCenter 8.0.2

VMware vSphere Live Recovery 9.0.2

Cause

This occurs when the following is true:

• The VM is replicating via VLSR to a target datastore residing on vSAN
• The VM is running on a non-vSAN datastore from the source side
• The Storage Policy for vSAN is applied on the source VM and it shows as non-compliant

Resolution

To resolve this issue, please migrate the source VM to a vSAN datastore, this will qualify the policy and replication should no longer have issues.
