Issue/Introduction

The documentation for DX NetOps Classic Network Configuration Manager (NCM) version 25.4.1  indicates that the only supported Linux disk partitioning is ext3. Customers using cloud environments like Azure, or newer on-premise setups, are finding that ext3 is not available or is outdated. They need to know if other file systems, such as xfs (which is often a default in newer Linux distributions), are supported

Environment

DX NetOps Classic, NCM component

Cause

The documentation is incorrect; the product has evolved to support newer file systems like XFS, and NCM does not check the file system type.

Resolution

NCM has been updated and does not specifically check for the file system type during installation or operation. Modern file systems, such as XFS, are now the default in many current Linux distributions and are fully compatible and supported for use with DX NetOps NCM.
