Issue/Introduction

Below error is encountered when trying to delete the Edge Gateway from vCD UI and thereafter, Org vDC needs to be removed.

Details: [ xxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxx] Deletion of edge gateway <Edge_Gateway_Name> failed. - Bad Request: Failed to delete Edge vnic, please check the Edge VM power status, the root cause is : , error code 10157

Debug:

com.vmware.vcloud.api.presentation.service.BadRequestException: Deletion of edge gateway <Edge_Gateway_Name> failed.

Caused by: com.vmware.vcloud.common.network.VsmException: Bad Request: Failed to delete Edge vnic, please check the Edge VM power status, the root cause is : , error code 10157

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

This is due the stale entries in the vCD database for that specific Edge.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, modification of the Cloud Director database is required.
