Storage Policy in VCD does not get updated when renamed in vCenter

Issue/Introduction

• A Storage Policy in VMware Cloud Director (VCD) does not get updated when it is renamed in vCenter
• After change Storage Policy name it will not be synced to the VCD
• If the Storage Policy is renamed in vCenter, it will appear as a new Storage Policy in VCD

Environment

• VMware Cloud Director 10.6.1.1

Cause

Unfortunately, changing a Storage Policies name is not supported in VCD

Resolution

The supported method would be to create a new Storage Policy, add it to VCD and then migrate the workload from the old storage policy to the new policy and then decommission the old one
