vCenter is configured to send SNMP traps.
During the collection of a vCenter Support Bundle, an SNMP trap is sent to the SNMP monitoring system.
The SNMP trap notification includes the following message:
#012DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (1008003696) XXX days,
HH:MM:SS.mm#011SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID:
SNMPv2-MIB::warmStart#011SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapEnterprise.0 = OID: VMWARE-ROOT-MIB::vmwProductSpecific.6876
VMware vCenter Server 8.0.x
When the vCenter Support Bundle collection process runs, it generates the following file and archives it in the support bundle:
commands/vicfg-snmp_--test.txt
This file contains the result of executing the command "vicfg-snmp --test". Running this command causes an SNMP trap to be sent.
The SNMP trap can be ignored if both of the following conditions are met:
The message contains "SNMPv2-MIB::warmStart".
The SNMP trap was sent during the collection of a vCenter Support Bundle.
