Issue/Introduction

Environment

vCenter 7.x

vCenter 8.x

Cause

In vCenter 7, the compatibility check done during the vMotion wizard, checks the VM's disks if Multi-Writer and CBT are being used in any combination on the VM being vMotion and then trigger the compatibility check error message of "The operation is not supported on the object. vMotion of a CBT-enabled VM having multi-writer disk(s) is not supported.

Resolution

In vCenter 8, the compatibility check will verify if the VM's disk are configured for CBT and multi-writer on the same disk. If the disk are not, then vMotion wizard panel will show the message Compatibility checks succeeded.
