Customers using Broadcom DX NetOps Performance Management may observe an unexpected reduction in their non-SNMP license count as reported by the NetOps portal. This can occur even when there has been no apparent change in the monitored inventory. For instance, a report might show a reduction of approximately 400 non-SNMP licenses (as observed in a November report) without any corresponding de-provisioning of devices. This leads to an inconsistency between the expected and reported license usage.
The NetOps portal's license usage reporting relies on periodic synchronization and re-evaluation of all managed elements. While incremental updates occur frequently, a comprehensive re-assessment of all licensed components (especially non-SNMP ones, which can be derived from various sources like virtualization managers, application agents, etc.) might not happen without a full synchronization process.
If the system experiences minor glitches, data processing delays, or if new components are introduced that subtly alter how non-SNMP elements are identified (even if not explicitly counted as new inventory), the reported count can become stale or misaligned until a full reconciliation is triggered.
