vSAN datastores are not showing any information pertaining to SIOC in the performance charts in the vCenter.

Issue/Introduction

• Unable to view information for Storage I/O charts for a vSAN datastore from the vSphere UI.

Environment

• VMware vCenter 7.x.
• VMware vCenter 8.x.
• VMware vCenter 9.x.

Cause

• vSAN uses its own scheduler for all I/O processing and control, and thus, does not use SIOC for any I/O control.

Resolution

• vSAN datastore does not support Storage I/O control and hence is of expected behavior.
