When VDC or custom data is removed/deleted from VCD, will the data be overwritten automatically?

Issue/Introduction

When VDC or custom data is removed/deleted from VCD, will the data be overwritten automatically? Or it is only a logical de-linking? 

Environment

VCD 10.6.1

Cause

This question is about data safety.   When an IT system is audited, there is a big difference that the user data is de-linked, or overwritten completely .

Resolution

For VCD, it use de-linking when remove/delete  VDC or other custom data.     Users should NOT rely on  VCD to overwrite data completely.
