Issue/Introduction

- Storage experienced hardware issue, and the LUN has been unmapped from storage.

- The datastore was unable to be deleted on the web UI

Environment

ESXi 8.x

Resolution

Remove the datastore from the command line

- esxcli storage vmfs extent list
- esxcli storage filesystem list
- esxcli storage filesystem unmount -u XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
- esxcfg-rescan -A
- /etc/init.d/hostd restart
