Backfilling missing Cost and Usage for Data Center accounts

Issue/Introduction

Missing Cost and Usage for the Data Center accounts. 

Cause

Unhealthy Aggregator will not collect Cost and Usage data for the Data Center accounts.

Resolution

Once the aggregator status is back to Healthy status, CloudHealth Platform will resume metric collection for all the accounts under it. 

Unfortunately, CloudHealth platform wont be able to backfill historical data for the account/s since historic metrics were not collected during the period the aggregator was Unhealthy. 

Backfilling would require to compute an average using future values. However, those values would not accurately represent the true historical data since old metrics were not collected. For that reason backfilling is not supported when the historical data is completely missing. 

CloudHealth recommend to create a policy that alerts  when the aggregators change status to Unhealthy or Stopped as shown below to avoid data gaps in the future.
