Issue/Introduction

    • Deployment of VCF Fleet Management components via api call /v1/vcf-management-components fails while installing the Cloud Proxy with the error:
       [{"messageld":"LCMVROPSYSTEM25127","message":"Error while configuring the
adapter.","eventId":"########-####-####-####-############","retry":true,"exceptionMessage":"Some SDDC Manager hosts are not
configured. Failed SDDC Manager hosts are:
      [sddc.vcf.<domain.com>]","exceptionStackTrace" "com.vmware.vrealize.icm.plugin.common.vrops.exceptions. AdapterConfigurationException:
Some SDDC Manager hosts are not configured. Failed SDDC Manager hosts are: [sddc.vcf.<domain.com>]\n\tat

    • Reboot of the Cloud Proxy returns the message continuously "Firstboot is running, please wait...
    • /storage/log/vcops/log/collector.log on the Cloud Proxy shows the error
2025-11-18T14:50:55.356Z ERROR collector ##### [ops@#### threadId="#####" threadName="TasksManager-TaskHandler-632"] [com.vmware.vcops.security.Crypt.decrypt_impl_v2] - decrypt caught exception: Given final block not properly padded. Such issues can arise if a bad key is used during decryption.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.0.x

VCF Fleet Manager 9.0.x

Resolution

  1. Sign into vCenter where the cloud proxy is deployed → power off the Cloud Proxy → Rename the Cloud Proxy VM
  2. Deploy fresh Cloud Proxy you can use the following documentation as a guide for redeployment Configuring Cloud Proxies in VCF Operations
  3. If you receive the error LCMVROPSSYSTEM29002 please follow the steps in KB VCF Operations deployment fails with Error: LCMVROPSSYSTEM29002 Operations collector group operation failure
  4. Retry the failed task in VCF Fleet Manager
  5. Once the task succeeds you can delete the problematic Cloud Proxy

Additional Information

VCF Operations Collector (Cloud Proxy) fails to boot up after deployment in VCF Operations 9.x because haproxy fails to start
