srm-server service crashing post RDM device being restored from backup

Environment

VLSR 9.0 GA 23463978

Cause

RDM device being restored from backup

If the device replication pair, is not readdressed when a device within a pair is restored from back, the SRA will continue to list the old pairing config.

In logs you may see similar backtrace:

--> Panic: Assert Failed: deviceIt !- deviceMap.end() (FindReplicatedRdms: Missing device with match: device.....vol) @ /build/mts/release/...../storage/datastoreGroup/common.cpp:256

 

Under array pairs you may see the RDM device as Unknown

Resolution

Restore both VLSR VM from backup or import latest configurations.

Replication administrator must ensure the device id pairing is reflecting the restored devices.
