The following metrics are not collecting data for Virtual Machines in Aria Operations (formerly vRealize Operations):
Average Read request size (bytes)
Average Write request size (bytes)
The metrics display as "No Data" or blank graphs.
You have confirmed that these metrics are Enabled in the active Policy assigned to the Virtual Machines.
The issue is observed when the vCenter Adapter instance is configured with a custom service account/role.
The issue does not occur if the vCenter Adapter is configured using a vSphere Administrator account.
Aria Operations 8.18.5
This issue is caused by insufficient privileges assigned to the custom vSphere role used by the Aria Operations service account.
Specific performance metrics require privileges beyond the standard "Read Only" role to be collected from vCenter. If the service account does not have the Performance > Modify intervals privilege (or other requirements listed in the documentation), granular disk I/O metrics may fail to collect.
To resolve this issue, you must update the vSphere role assigned to the Aria Operations service account with the required privileges.
Log in to the vSphere Client as an Administrator.
Navigate to Administration > Access Control > Roles.
Select the role currently assigned to the Aria Operations service account.
Edit the role and ensure all privileges listed in the official documentation are selected.
Note: Pay specific attention to the "Performance" privilege group.
Save the changes.
(Optional) In Aria Operations, navigate to Data Sources > Integrations and Stop/Start the vCenter Adapter instance to force a connection refresh.
