Issue/Introduction

When trying to transition to vSphere Lifecycle Manager Images using the SDDC Manager API the subtask "Create a draft on cluster" is failing with the error:

Validation for the cluster's personality image with draft ID has failed with errors: [Image with the input desired state already exists in the Image Library with the name ...

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 9.x

 

Cause

An image with the desired state already existed in vCenter Image Library thus the task failed.

Resolution

After having positively identified the already existing image in the vCenter vSphere Client in Lifecycle Manager the image should be removed by clicking on the three dots next to its name.

Afterwards please restart the failed task SDDC Manager, it should now complete successfully the previously failed sub-task "Create a draft on cluster".
