Issue/Introduction

Users migrating to VCF Operations 9.x may encounter an error when configuring the VMC on AWS integration.

While the Organization ID validates successfully, data collection fails to start and the adapter instance displays the following error:

Info TaskVMCAccountDetails exception, errMsg = Cannot invoke "java.util.List.iterator()" because "certificateInfoList" is null, adapter=####

Environment

VCF Operations 9.x

Cause

The VMC on AWS Management Pack reached End of General Support (EOGS) on September 30, 2025. Data collection via this specific Management Pack is no longer supported.

Resolution

To restore data collection, bypass the deprecated Management Pack by configuring the VMC vCenter as a standard vCenter Cloud Account.

Note: In order to collect from a VMC on AWS environment Broadcom recommends deploying a cloud proxy in that environment and then following the steps below:

  1. Verify connectivity and privileges

    • Log in to the VCF Operations collector or Cloud Proxy via SSH.

    • Run the following command to verify network access to the VMC vCenter: curl -vk <VMC_vCenter_FQDN>:443

    • Confirm that the monitoring user has all the necessary minimum privileges required for the vCenter Adapter - Privileges for Configuring a vCenter Adapter Instance.

  2. Configure the vCenter Cloud Account

    • Log in to the VCF Operations UI.

    • Navigate to Administration > Integrations > Accounts.

    • Select Add Account and choose the vCenter tile.

      • Note: Do not select the VMC account type.

    • Enter the Name and VMC vCenter FQDN/IP.

    • Click the + sign to add new credentials and enter the username and password validated in Step 1.

  3. Validate and Save

    • Click Validate Connection.

    • Review and Accept the certificate thumbprint in the warning dialog to establish trust.

    • Complete any remaining configuration settings (e.g., collector group assignment) and Save the new Cloud Account.

The adapter status changes to OK and data collection begins.
