Issue/Introduction

The Secure Domain Connector Process model is not created in DX NetOps Spectrum after the successful import of a Secure Domain Connector.

Environment

All Supported Releases

Cause

The Secure Domain Connector (SDC) server was also configured as an RSyslog Server, meaning both services shared the same IP address. Since a model for the RSyslog Server already existed in Spectrum, the system could not create the new Secure Domain Connector Process Model because a model with the same IP address was already present.

Resolution

To resolve this IP address conflict and successfully create both models, perform the following steps:

  1. Delete Existing RSyslog Model:

    • Locate and delete the existing model for the RSyslog Server from Spectrum.

  2. Import SDC:

    • Re-run the Secure Domain Connector Import process. This action will now successfully create the SDC Process Model using the server's IP.

  3. Re-Create RSyslog Model:

    • Manually re-create the RSyslog model using the "Model by Type" option. This method allows for the creation of a model with a duplicate IP address, enabling both the SDC Process Model and the RSyslog Model to coexist in Spectrum.
