ESXi not responding due to host RAMDISK 'etc' is full

Issue/Introduction

The following error is observed in vCenter:

Running vdf -h in cli on the host shows etc is 100%

/etc/likewise/lib/krb5cc_lsass.<domain> file is 25M

 

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.x

Cause

 krb5cc_lsass  file grows larger than the size of the partition causing services to stop

Resolution

Move the krb5cc_lsass.file and restart management agents

/etc/likewise/lib/krb5cc_lsass.<domain>

/etc/init.d/lwsmd start
/etc/init.d/hostd start 
/etc/init.d/vpxa start
